Lewisham Borough 0 Rye United 2

The new regime off to a perfect start with goals either side of half-time, against a useful looking Lewisham.

I've got to remember yer new avatar Deano, not used to seeing you in Newcastle stylee 'Jim Jams'.

Clymping 4 - 2 Haywards Heath XI

Was a very good match highly enjoyable as most of the clymping team were ex Worthing Utd players and the current Clifton Sussex Sunday Prem Division Team.

But a good run out and physical battle.

roll on the next friendly

Agree re: the Clymping game, although did not think it was all that physical.

Also only 5 were ex Worthing United (and they were rarely first team) out of a squad of 16 and only 7 were Clifton players but from our point of view it went okay (although we let in two rubbish goals and probably should have scored a couple more).

What position did you play topash, were you the first 11 or second 11?

Have to say after seeing Three Bridges against Rustington last year I think HH will need to improve their Suburban side but I suppose it is early days plus I think as a club they are very well set up and the behind the scenes coaches etc. looked excellent (warm downs and preperation looked good - although warm down on a night like that - couldnt get much warmer!!)

Good luck for your season

Mark

Hi Mark,

I played in the second 11 and was playing left back set up the goals.

your team was very organised and like i say ex worthing utd players and clifton players you could be a good match for any county team if you play like that all the time. very good side much impressed.

Cheers

Ash

Horsham 0 Eastbourne Borough 1

A good workout for the new look Borough squad against a decent Horsham side. A good header from Scott Ramsay on the hour settled things, and County League fans will be pleased to know that Pat Harding impressed after coming on for the last 15 minutes or so, and hit the post. I think he'll do well!

Eastbourne Town's squad completed their first pre season friendly with a run out against a more than useful East Grinstead side who may well be a difficult team to beat in Division Two this season.

Shaheen Sadough scored two goals on his return to action against Steyning Town this afternoon, Shaz opened the scoring on 34 minutes then 3 minutes later doubled the lead. Second half substitutes Dean Venton (70) and Owen Callaghan (90) completed the scoring.

Double header for Hassocks away at Horley, and we came away with two wins - 2-0 in the first game, and 5-3 in the second

Lydd Town 1 Rye United 6

A first half performance from last season left the scoreline 1-1 at half time. 5 goals in the second half saw Lydd opened up...

11 Rye substitutions throughout the match and no less than 8 previously Rymans league players on the park.

The lads will face a much stiffer test next week away to Ramsgate.
