Totally agree mate... bloody well done Chelsea. Wading through some of the @!#& posted on another forum you sometimes wonder about some of the ridiculous views expressed there. Mostly pure hatred does not allow people to take any note of tactics. Yeah they rode their luck without a doubt, but the game plan was to play a solid line of defence, attack on the break and play an almost Stoke type match. Today everyone has talked about Chelsea being a route one team because they dared to beat the mighty Barcelona! It shows them to have more than a Plan A as they are very well equipped to play a passing game as well. Yes Barca did miss a few and are guilty of not scoring, but football is a percentages game and luck is one of those percentages. Equally, the Chelsea goal was top draw pass and movement. I can't see the boys in blue getting so lucky in the Camp Nou and Barca will still be very hot favourites to close the semi final out.

PS: I found Drogba equally embarrassing, brilliant and tireless in defending... what an enigma!

A funny old game.
I think that if Chelsea played Barca ten times Barca would win six,two would be drawn and Chelsea would win two.
I am not applying science here.Just the way I se it.
Chelsea have won one of the ten. They now need a draw or a win to take them through to the final.
A win is very unlikely.A draw is unlikely.A 2-1 defeat more likely.Which would be enough.Of course a Barca win quite comfortably is the most likely result.

I was not at all surprised that Chelsea won the first leg.

I would not be surprised if they make the final.

I would however be astounded if they win it.

As a Chelsea Fan of 45 years I find Drogba quite embarrassing , he had a spell about 3/4 years ago of going down every 10 minutes but had improved over the last few seasons , until this last week.
I think he knows he will be on his way in the summer and is doing his " Although I keep getting fouled I will rise and save the day " bit for maximum coverage , having a lack of intelligence to understand that its pure selfishness and arrogance.
He loves to be hero

Barcalona will win the second leg 2 or 3 - Nil

By the way Chelsea still owe them one for being cheated out of a final appearance by the most inept referee of our time for that semi at Stamford Bridge in 2009. Perhaps this is karma.

24 attempts on goal for Barca. 1 for Chelseas in the first leg tells the story for me.

Chelsea were VERY VERY lucky to get the result in the first leg.

Although you could argue it was tactically very good, they still let Barca have 24 shots on target so was it really that good tactically? Barca should have buried 3 or 4 of those.

If it goes anything like to the form book in the return leg I would expect Barca to win by 3 or 4 goals.

I'm not being anti Chelsea here, I am being realistic that they are up against the best club side the world has ever seen (in my opinion), and on a larger Camp Nou pitch that are going to have to treble the amount of luck they had the other night. I will happily eat my words afterwards but just cant see it happening.

And yes Drogba is a disgrace. His antics have improved in recent years but he was back to his pathetic best.

Camp Nou - 105 × 68 metres
Stamford Bridge - 103 x 67 metres

A metre at either end, and half a metre either side bigger, wouldnt call it a big difference. Chelsea will have to get their tactics spot on again to progress.

Its an extra 239 sq metres Chelsea will have to cover (work that one out!).

Messi and co can do lots in one square metre, let alone 239 :).

The Camp Nou always looks like a huge pitch on telly with lots of space. Stamford Bridge always looks pretty cramped. Im quite sure the pitch size will make a fair amount of difference.

Sad Spectator - maths lesson just for you

Camp Nou - 105 × 68 metres = 7140 sq m
Stamford Bridge - 103 x 67 metres = 6901 sq m

Difference = 239 sq m.

Sorry everybody else. Probably the most boring post in the history of NOMAD.

PHEW!! ,
Relief but not much pleasure as it was a poor game football wise
Backs against the wall for 89 minutes , Barca again just could not put away the simple chances they would get blindfolded.
John Terry deserved to get sent off , stupid schoolboy prank but Chelsea did not deserve 7 cards , and now four players will miss the final.

I am happy to be proved wrong. Obviously the big pitch want big enough!!

Amazing defensive performance by the two stand in centre backs (and the rest of the team).

John Terry , what can you say, he just continually lets himself and his people down.

Even more embarassing is the fact he is trying to claim now that it was not deliberate. :))
