Captain Jack. You are not far wide of the mark.I know that you work with young people as I do,and that they need direction and good role models.A lot of them think that everything (i pads,i phones,4x4 cars, massive 3D TV's) all come easily.Their parents give them the wrong values, and the kids are getting a nasty shock when they hit the real world.
No wonder kids are staying living with their parents longer these days. It's easy and they have everything.
This feeds through to football by parents telling their kids how great they are,and the kids then finding out that they aren't.So they keep moving around hoping that they will find someone to tell them that they are.
If nobody does......they quit.
Some actually quit at the first sign that they aren't the fantastic person that they thought they were.
I'm done with lecturing, but in my opinion a caring, loving, nice, decent person is worlds ahead of a financially wealthy, but spiritually bereft person every time.
Football is a simple game....It's the damn players that make it difficult.
