Charitable Auction

Postby Geoff » Sun May 06 2012, 17:06

Seeing as it looks very unlikely that Nomad will be making a charity organisation a little happier this year I would be happy to know if clubs have a Charity Auction going on this summer. Reason being, I want to give my seat at Brighton up for a game for an auction. Base price would be £50 but I would love to see it go for £100. They have a game of their choice except the opening game, I'll be going to that. If you have something going on please let me know. It has to be for Charity and not for funding your club!

Cheers.

If a club runs a charity auction and is lucky enough to include this they'd probably have to confirm with you that their club has got it - if you see what I mean. I'll run one, Bob Marchant will run one, Matt Major and so on and you'll lose your seat for 15 games lol.

On a note on season tickets Geoff, would I be right in thinking when you lived around EP you were a frequent visitor to Stamford Bridge (as was I) and seemingly you move up Town and start coming back to Brighton lol.;)

A very generous offer. I would run a Charity Auction at ours if we were offered the opportunity. Our chosen charity would be SADS as we have supported them after the death of Herve King.

If geoff is like myself he found it an expensive hobby to go to the bridge , I had a season ticket a few years ago but gradually the costs of the ticket and travelling proved too much and so I moved down the leagues into non-league football.
Now for the cost of one Chelsea game I can see about 11 non league games (step 5)

I think you become more attached to your area when you move away Bob. Sussex means more to me now than it ever did in my whole life. I have lived in Ireland, USA and here and there but I miss Sussex more than ever. It doesn't mean I want to be there it just means I miss it. I was staunch Chelsea in Sussex, I am back to what meant so much to me when I was a kid growing up in the county and it was always the Albion. It also makes the non league situation so much stronger with a strong league club. All my childhood memories were Brighton and Hove Albion. I love them and adore them. So getting back on topic, please one club take up my offer. Thank you.

I just prefer Brighton Jim, I'll be in the Fulham Road area for the ECL, but I just prefer my home club, it means a lot to me.

Sorry Bob I should have said if you are running a charity auction, you can have the seat.

I have an Exec Com meeting next Monday night, I'll raise it and get it passed and we can add some other things to it too as second and third prize.

I'll pm you directly after that. I think it might be a good idea if we were to say a game to promote the value of the ticket itself? A night game would open the bidding to a wider audience perhaps, as most would be involved with the non-league aspect on a Saturday.

Thanks.

I'll leave the ticket open to the choice of the winner. Except the first game, I'll be there! Midweek would be perfect as I can't get to midweek games anyway.
