Brooksie wrote:He was sent off for foul and abussive language towards our linesman after being given offside. The ref has already booked 2 Garden Bar players in the 1st half for dissent.

The ref, who I thought had a good game, had no choice but to abandon the game after being threatened. Some of the other players didn't cover themselves in glory either. Accusing the ref of costing them the league after he abandoned the game, despite us telling them the result would stand as we had played more than 80mins.

It could be a lengthy ban for him, all depends on what the referee puts in his report I guess.

It was a shame really, as some of the football they played tore us apart at the back, and especially when they were 7-0 up

They did exactly the same against us a few weeks ago. An offside decision was correctly given but despite being 3-0 up at the time, they all decided start throwing their toys out and hurling abuse at our linesman and players. They even went around to the other side of the pitch to give our linesman abuse.

Purely for this reason and their unsporting behaviour everytime we've played them, i hope they don't win the league!

3 games to play, us and Jaxx twice, they need 4 points for the title!

Well done Dor've for a whole season unbeaten =D>

We were unfortunately unable to raise a side, we had 9

It would have been a brilliant game if we had our players but that's the way some seasons go, injuries have taken their toll (We can still potentially meet Dor've in the final  )

Danny Turner needing stiches in his ankle after a tackle against Gardeners

And a few other injuries in Drew Michael, Richie Watton .... etc

Semi final Thursday

Will Prodger get a lengthy ban for that?

Heathfielder - an 8 nil loss!!! Come on, you're better than than that!!! :D

It was humiliating to say the least. . . :x It's a case of if we get our best 11 out we can put in a decent performance otherwise we are useless!! Having said that I think we all agreed on Sunday that Garden Bar played some bloody good football. . .the 30 yard free kick to make it 2-0 was quality! I honestly cant see Jaxx causing an upset against Garden Bar. . . although was funny seeing all the Jaxx boys walk in at 10.30 cos Jarvis Brook didnt turn up  What a waste of a sunday lie in!!
If only I could play football . . ..

Jarvis Brook must have been late as they won 4-2 according to the results email yesterday, were not holding our breath for a jaxx win tbh, Im suprised there still going, premier division could be very different next year!

With that in mind, the second game was a much more relaxed one, what with a cameo performance by Traffic Cone as linesman :-s . I suspect a prosperous career at Gatwick waving in the planes awaits after some frantic flag waving antics =D>  .

The worrying thing is that was my best performance of the season!! Didn't put a foot wrong!! Could be a new career for me soon . . .
Have to say, both games were fairly relaxed especially the 2nd one - with so many players unable to run due to tight hamstrings etc - what was your excuse Tips?!
You could definitely tell that a lot of players were suffering from a ridiculous schedule recently! Nice to see Dinky (ex Millhouse manager) on the pitch rolling back the years, showing some nice touches!
Bit surprised considering the runners up spot was resting on the two games - seemed to be a little too relaxed in the 1st game!

Well done Dor've for a whole season unbeaten =D>

Thanks again for the acknowledgement.
Very satisfying League campaign for us - not just winning our 1st Premier League title, but also going unbeaten.
Was genuinely disappointed not to play the last 2 games - I guess thats why we've got so many signed on. I was struggling to get a full 14 out, with several unavailable and injured; so many games in last couple of weeks.

As you say, could still meet in the final, but we've both got very tough Semi-Finals coming up on Thursday.

I think the whole thing needs to be reviewed for next season - to get the quality of the leagues and the amount of teams back up to scratch.
Maybe they could incorporate a Champions League style division with the best teams from each League (Sussex Sunday, Lewes League etc) in one division - not sure about the travelling though!!
Other than that maybe the League could reward some of the teams that have been going so long by not charging so much - I understand the bank account is quite healthy! Something needs to be done to halt the alarming slump!

I'm sure that last years balance sheet showed they have £40,000 in the bank plus assets. Was a nice touch each team getting a match ball and kit bag, but would have thought most teams would have preferred the money to be knocked off the monthly bill.

The cost just to rent a pitch from the council is the killer for most teams I think, £47 a home game in Brighton & Hove, when most of the pitches have crap nets, long grass and dog crap everywhere.

We had a similar conversation after our Saturday game, a few players queried why we pay subs for away games, my response was pretty much identical to yours Nick. Thank god for away fixtures for allowing us to balance the books!

Walts - i see from the fixtures we are listed as the home side, i guess its a race to Ringmer for the good changing room!

RE Ricky Prodger/Garden Bar - What are you other sides doing to p**s them off so much!?! We've played them 3 times this year, 1-1, 4-1 GB and 6-1 LBV the results, and we found them to be a good bunch of lads during and after the games!

I'm not sure I like the inference that our away changing room is crap
