Horley Town (1) 1 Crawley Down Gatwick (1)
( 45 pen.) (Odenaike 15.)
On a beautiful summers eve, on a superb playing surface allied to the makeover the New Defence has undergone had all the ingredients of an interesting match.
Yet Anvil supporters there could be forgiven for coming away somewhat disappointed at the final scoreline. With a squad of eighteen on view which included newcomers, the first half seem to consist of long over hit balls upfield for messrs Blewden, Cade and Odunaike to chase after, the latter managing to open the scoring on 15 mins with the homesters restoring parity with a penalty on 45.
The second half showed a lot more passing movement and pace from the back, but the final third remained the problem with the Horley keeper hardly having to break sweat thro out.
Overall the performance continued to look promising, but it was as they say 'work in progress' regarding the final third.
