Corinthian Casuals (2) 2 Crawley Down (1) 3
(Boosy 10, Byatt 27) (Blewden 32, 65. Cade 68)
On a playing surface that one could die for (velvety green and flat to boot) the game was poised for the connoisseur of flowing carpet style football, well the latter statement could be forgotten as a stiffish wind blowing down the pitch and a low setting globe in the sky tended to reduce the game to long overhit passes.
The homesters took full advantage of the conditions and whilst the Anvils were still adjusting their sunglasses quickly found themselves two goals to the good, but the Anvils are not for turning these days and workaholic Luke Blewden covering every inch as is his want quickly reduced the arrears, come the second half and it was all Anvil pressure with chances being created and missed in equal numbers, until the hit squad of Blewden and Jamie Cade saw the Anvils home for another three points in their charge for a top ten finish.
