abusive language

Postby redcarder » Sat Jan 08 2011, 18:35

referees should all be together, either show the red card for swearing at officials or dont bother ,why is there such a difference in the standard of the officials attitude towards abusive language towards them, anyone have any answers :?: :?: :?:

I would have to agree

The biggest problem, and i think the biggest thing that aggravates the players, is referee in-consistency and it could be avoided it they all followed one path.

Now that it no way is putting any of the referee's down, as i think they have the hardest job on the pitch, but its just saying that if you don't get carded for something one week, then you have no reason to believe it is wrong in the second week etc...

My comment would be not to swear and then you won't have a problem.

Referee like players come from different walks of life, sometimes this has a bearing, but perhaps shouldn't. Lots of officials can see frustation and are able to deal with it from different players.

Referee's are now considering tacking action to highlight that enough is enough, I referee at a high level of football. RESPECT is more than a hand shake(looks good on tv).

How would you fill if you game on saturday had no officials? [-o< ( it won't happen will it)
7000 referee's quit the game every year. If this loss were to continue at this rate in less than 10 years all the highest games would have referee's. :(
Positive action now is a big step in the right direction =D> =D>

=D> =D> =D> - Agree totally... But not going to happen...
However, I was at a Worthing League game before Christmas, played at a County Ground and found it most amusing that the referee, (remaining nameless), swore at the players in respose to them swearing at him. Was a breath of fresh air, quite funny, and showed who was in charge.

The referee in question is known locally as one of the better ones around and I thought this was great - Good for him!

was it Neil Saxton?

He is legendary for that =D> =D>

Nothing better than him reffing you on a Saturday afternoon, or a Sunday morning and calling you a c**t after making a mistake. The bloke is a legend

Thing is, if I called him the same for all the mistakes he made in games I would be sine die for the next decade

Positive Action For match officials is gaining pace.

Many games in Sussex could well be without qualified match officials for one weekend in the near future. This is part of action to highlight the plite and level of abuse that in some games has become common place [-X [-X

How many people that played and abused match officials would take up the whistle

7000 referee's a year stop refereeing due to abuse [-X . How would it feel if you were to go to work to be abused on a regular basis ( You wouldn't go) So why as referees do you allow players to do this to you. #-o

Games will always be played, a qualified referee is a bonus .Don't abuse or your lose us =D> =D>

Surely, if a referee feels he/she is being verbally abused, the answer is to issue a caution to the player involved. If said player persists, a second caution is administered.
I cannot abide referees who complain of constant abuse, but do nothing about it. You have the power. Use it.

if a referee lets the language go one week and does nothing, all he is doing is stuffing the referee  who comes the following week ,shows the yellow and RED cards and then gets slaughtered for doing so,i would prefer the ref who stands up and shows the cards

RedCarder.

It would seem that some referee's will and some won't. But the part of the problem is the referees that do take action fall into groups, those that report misconduct to the powers that be( i.e County FA/ League) and those that forget to file the reports.

R. A Motto SERVICE BEFORE SELF. If each referee did as he or she is enpowered to do within the laws of the game, then next weeks ref would have an easier fixture to control.

A few seasons a go I saw a referee go to the same team 4 weeks out 7,(due to the teams poor discipline record [-X , he was sent by the league) by the second game he had very few in any problems and by the fourth game he had no troubla at tall. The moral (what ever you do in the first minute, you also carry out in the last minute) People will argue I need club marks, so won't do the job, thus making the job that much harder for the person that followed you. Referees are not alone, help yourself, to help others. SERVICE BEFORE SELF. =D> :D

SPOT ON COUSIN

if any player playing for a SCFL, MSFL or WSFL etc etc did what Rooney did, they would be instantly RED CARDED

We get the "RESPECT" campaign from the FA thrust down our throat week in week out but the big boys can do what they like!!

They send us Paperwork, posters, forms to complete and captain armbands with RESPECT on........does the premier league get this? ](*,)

Totally agree but could you have imagined the controversy if head been sent off.

This would have been an excellent opportunity to show what the "RESPECT" campaign actually means to the FA for all to see and sending the potty mouth off.

Until it is done at this level with the audience it has, what chance have the referees at lower levels?
