SCFA Senior cup semi final. HHTFC v BHTFC

Postby fanbase » Sat Mar 02 2019, 10:20

Haywards Heath Town took on Burgess Hill Town in the semi final of the SCFA Senior Cup. Hill started the stronger and were two goals up after only 11 minutes. Heath steadied themselves after this and matched their division higher opponents to keep them at bay to go in at halftime 2-0 down. Heath made a change for the second half with Melford Simpson replacing Andrew Dalhouse and that made a difference with Simpson winning most of the high balls. Heath pulled a goal back on 52 minutes through Callum Saunders. The fog was a major factor in the second half with the referee stopping play twice when visibility was reduced. Heath were unable to add to their score and it is Burgess Hill Town who progress to the final at the Amex Stadium.
