This old bollocks gets spouted any time a ref gets slated. If this is the case, how come the lower divisions of the feeder leagues continue. They do not have refs every week. It should be said that without football you would not have referees.

I believe Graham Poll hates football and footballers. That's why he wrecks every game in officiates in.

Now Colina definately LOVED the game

It must be the summer heat, but I find myself agreeing with Michael - it was a great shame when Colina retired from officiating at international matches. A superb ref and someone who could teach some of the referees at this world cup a thing or two. I do think it a bit rich of Sepp "Rentaquote" Blatter to have a go at the refs, though - most of them were only following edicts set by him and the FIFA cronies.
