Referee abandons game due to abuse

Postby Henry14 » Sat Apr 14 2012, 19:34

Evening all.
WIll keep it brief as I don't want to disclose too much information!
I had my final game of the season today, and it was set to be a really important one. Knowing that a win for both would allow them to finish 4th, and with the possible re-shuffle of the leagues, 4 could get promoted.
On the 86th minute the referee booked a player on the oppositions side for a handball offence. Although it was harsh to book the player, the linesman started shouting at the referee. The referee has then red carded the linesman and requested a new one. As he has walked off, the lino has called the ref a "fat c*nt, and a useless large fat lump of lard".
To this point, the referee has abandoned the game, with the scored at 1-1.
Now my question is...who gets the points, or does it stay at 1-1? A must win game for both teams left all players and management in a standstill as no one knows where this goes!?

Can anyone help as to who decides whether points get deducted or anything else?
Many thanks.

It entirely depends on the league rules.
